Dr. Sameer Gupta, Interventional Cardiologist and MD of Aurum Senior & Assisted Living discussing the new regulations for vaccinating people who recovered from COVID.

Watch Dr. Sameer Gupta, Director of Cardiology at Metro Hospitals, Delhi, share his view on vaccination gap for India’s leading news channel- India Today. Being a renowned doctor himself and serving thousands of patients, Dr. Gupta has an in-depth understanding of medical infrastructure and the science of the human body. He is of the opinion that the effect of COVID infection lasts up to 8 months. Hence after 6 months, vaccination can be considered for a person who has recovered from COVID. He also stated that the rate of re-infection is getting lower than ever because the immunity from COVID in first phase has passed on the second phase- a major reason why a comparatively lower number of people are getting COVID now. Dr. Sameer also explained the way our immunity system works and how antibody levels can help after a vaccination gap of 6 months.
